The Gerona airport, officially Airport Girona, located 13 kilometres from the city of Gerona, serving all the Costa Brava, and 100 kilometers from the city of Barcelona. It is now one of the airports that have experienced more growth in recent years, mainly due to the fact of being one of the main bases of Ryanair in Europe. In 2007, the airport has received a total of 4,848,619, reflecting an increase of 34% over the previous year, an increase of more than one million passengers.
